From the Principal

I would like to formally introduce myself to our community. I am so privileged to be permanently taking on the 4/5/6 class teacher and Principal role of Rous Public School.  I am excited to work with all, to empower our students to strive for excellence in all areas of education. 

All staff have completed mandatory training requirements, including CPR, Anaphylaxis, Work Health and Safety,and Child Protection. The staff have also completed First Aid training. All class teachers are maintaining accreditation at proficient. 

All teaching staff meet the professional requirements for teaching in NSW public schools. 

Our school administrative staff can answer inquiries or direct you to the appropriate staff member for help.

School Admin Manager

My name is Joanne Bate and I am Rous Public School’s Admin Manager. I have been here since 2008 and really love the small school atmosphere and sense of community this place holds.

I studied the Secretarial Course at Lismore TAFE in 1980, however, I didn’t pursue this line of work until after my 3 beautiful daughters were of school age. I had been helping my husband run and manage our macadamia farm until then, and still do – it’s my hobby!

I feel very lucky to be part of a school that has hard-working, dedicated staff and a bunch of great families that make up this wonderful community.

I like to spend my spare time with family and friends and, of course, patchworking!
